Bear Fruit & Multiply: Please Pray!

Dear friend,

This evening Butterfly leaders arrive in Orlando from ​Moldova, ​Brazil, South Florida and Orlando, Florida. Please pray for this precious group​ of women who joined our vision to reach women around the world, last November, They are ​committed to the vision, coming back for their third workshop to grow both as disciples and disciple makers.

As I think about God’s passion for us to bear fruit and multiply beginning in Genesis 1:26-28 and continued through Jesus’ Great Commission; “Go into all the world and make disciples” – I believe these women are bringing joy to God’s heart!  As they are experiencing transformation and freedom in their own lives, they are being empowered by the Holy Spirit to multiply. Using the analogy of the Butterfly to transform and multiply, God is using them ​quietly and ​powerfully in their response to obey His Great Commission.  

And they are reaching women in all walks of life – several are reaching women in prison, others are reaching women in their own churches and community, some are reaching women in slums and some are reaching children.  We have a lot to praise God for this weekend!

As much as we are excited about what God is “doing” – I believe the Lord is as much, if not more concerned with who these women are “becoming” – women being transformed into His image, women of deep compassion and truth birthed out of their own experiences of suffering and pain, women totally dependent on Him, women yielded to Him, women growing in intimacy with Him, women who are looking for and longing for His return!

So as I share an overview of what God has been “doing” through these women – I know they want to give God all the glory and thanks for what they are each becoming – because we believe that is what brings Him greatest glory! 

Highlights of what God has been doing (through this group)….

• South Florida: Tanya has started a Butterfly Leadership and Disciple Making group with 9 women in her church. She has also been given access to a women’s jail in her county where she will start a Butterfly ministry reaching the women in prison, end of this month.

• Brazil: Marli has started several Butterfly Leadership and Disciple Making groups with women, she has trained leaders in Rehab facilities to share the Butterfly teaching with women in rehab, has taught children’s groups and even had at least one man use the butterfly story to share the gospel in his church.  One of the children produced her own Butterfly video sharing the gospel in Portuguese!

  ​. Marli ​also started a Brazil Butterfly group in Orlando after our last workshop, and has recently been invited to start a group in South Carolina!

• Moldova: ​Angie and Alyona have started a Butterfly Discipleship group, trained some of their staff, and ​have ​been ministering to women in prison.

• Orlando, Florida: Thanks to the commitment of the leadership in this group from my home church, Avalon Church has women involved in 6 Butterfly Leadership and Disciple Making groups. Kris, Betty, Tracie and Cindy have been involved in leading some of these groups. Joanna led a retreat for college group girls using Butterfly teaching
  ​ on identity​ ​ and ​Shannon has shared teaching with a church in Utah who will use Butterfly teaching for a retreat for girls from very broken situations.

​​​There are many battles and challenges requiring great faith. ​We don’t know what the future holds for any of us, but ​we are united in our desire for intimacy with Jesus, not only to be His hands and feet in a broken world, but to be His heart.

Please pray this weekend ​​that we will grow more and more in His grace and glory

​​I humbly thank the Lord for all that HE is doing. I am deeply aware that we multiply only as much as we “ABIDE” in Him. Without Him we can DO nothing – but if we abide – He has promised we will bear MUCH fruit.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21.
